About the Founder
As Michigan’s only practicing Certified Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) Therapist, our founder brings a uniquely specialized approach to early intervention for children ages 0–5. With nearly a decade of experience as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA), and over eight years as a Michigan Certified Special Education Teacher, she has dedicated her career to helping young learners thrive across home, school, and therapy settings. Her passion lies in combining evidence-based ABA principles with the play-based, relationship-focused methods of the ESDM to support every child’s growth and potential.
Meet Our Team
All of our staff have completed a 40-hour course on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). In addition to this coursework, staff receive face-to-face training on core behavior principles and the ESDM approach. Before working independently, they also shadow experienced team members with current clients to ensure a smooth and well-supported transition into their role.
Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) take the additional step of passing both a competency assessment and a written examination to become officially registered with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

Aisha
Hi, I’m Aisha, a Behavioral Technician with two years of experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). I’m currently studying psychology and am passionate about continuing to grow in the behavioral health field. I chose this work because I value helping individuals build independence, confidence, and quality of life through compassionate, individualized care. I strive to create a positive, supportive environment where each client feels encouraged to learn and grow. In my free time, I enjoy a wide range of music, as well as anime and cartoons. I also love spending time outdoors hiking, camping, and going to the beach.
Arthur
My name is Arthur, and I am a Behavior Technician committed to helping children and families build meaningful, lasting relationships. I bring over 15 years of experience working with youth as an area director, counselor, and teacher across a variety of ministry settings. Throughout my career, I’ve developed a deep passion for guiding young people, supporting their growth, and creating positive environments where they can truly thrive. In my role as a BT, I provide compassionate, structured support that promotes development, independence, and confidence. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball and recording music, which helps me stay creative, active, and connected to my passions.
Kiera
My name is Kiera, and I am a Behavior Technician working toward becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) while pursuing a Doctorate in Education (EdD), further strengthening my commitment to supporting individuals through applied behavior analysis. I chose this field because of my passion for helping individuals grow, learn, and reach their full potential. I am committed to promoting positive behavioral outcomes and improving quality of life. Outside of my work in behavioral health, I own a catering business, where I express my creativity and share my love of food with others.
Samantha
Hi, I’m Samantha, the new Operations Coordinator at Rooted Therapy Center. I’m passionate about supporting children and families and being part of something meaningful. Having a brother with autism and Down syndrome has given me a personal connection to this community. My background includes nannying and administrative work, and I enjoy creating organized, welcoming environments. I love spending time with my two boys—exploring new places, building with Legos, and playing games. I also enjoy thrifting, audiobooks, hiking, and a good cup of coffee.
Kenjoshua
I have been with Rooted Therapy Center for nearly two years, working as both a Behavior Technician and a New Hire Trainer. During this time, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse set of clients and witnessing their growth and success in therapy, an experience that has been both rewarding and inspiring.
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis, which I pursued with the goal of helping others. Early in my graduate studies, I was given the opportunity to work at Rooted Therapy with a population that was entirely new to me. Since then, I have developed a deep passion for working with children on the Autism Spectrum and have grown tremendously in my role.
Outside of work, I enjoy playing soccer, watching anime, and sharing with anyone who will listen why Naruto is the best anime of all time!
Layla
My name is Layla, and I am a Registered Behavior Technician with a strong commitment to supporting children’s growth and development. I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a concentration in behavior, with the goal of becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Over the past several years in this field, I have developed a strong passion for this work. I am motivated by the opportunity to support meaningful progress and take pride in making a positive impact on each child. Seeing the progress children make over time is incredibly rewarding, and I value being part of their journey. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially visiting lakes and exploring new places.
Emary
My name is Emary. I am a Registered Behavior Technician. I have been in the field for 3 years and have been an RBT for 2 years. My job helps families in my community live more fulfilling and harmonious lives. I worked as a nanny and camp counselor in college. I discovered ABA after college through a friend. I am beginning graduate school to become a BCBA. I love cooking, playing video games. Hanging out with my 3 cats, and spending time with my family (we love to do big family dinners and try new recipes).
Sierra
My name is Sierra and I am a Behavior Technician. What drew me to this role is being able to advocate and help kiddos who can’t advocate for themselves. I graduated from Grand Valley State University and am currently enrolled at The Michigan School of Psychology with an emphasis in ABA. I chose this field because during my undergrad I worked in a daycare and loved seeing all the new things the kiddos were learning everyday! Outside of working, I enjoy hanging out with friends, watching movies, and face-timing long-distance friends.
Hope
My name is Hope, and I am a Behavior Technician who is very passionate about helping children learn and grow. I love being able to work in-home with families and support them. I have been doing ABA for four years and have loved every moment of it, from supporting older children to working with younger learners.
I find the most fulfillment in seeing my clients develop new skills and reach important milestones. I chose this field because of my love for working with children and making a meaningful difference in their lives.
Outside of work, I enjoy playing tennis, painting, traveling, and taking my dog on hikes.

My son benefited greatly from working with Darra. His confidence, public speaking skills, and every day conversation skills have improved so much since he started at Rooted Therapy Center. I would recommend Darra to any parent who has concerns about selective mutism or social anxiety.
